UCC Policy and Procedures
  • UCC physicians perform a variety of services which OHIP does not cover; services include: notes for school/work, wart removal, medical examinations for employment etc. There is a standard charge for all services set by the Ontario Medical Association (OMA). Patients will be notified of the cost prior to treatment and are to cover the cost of the service. Click here for a full list of uninsured services and prices.

  • The Urgent Care Centre Organization is a provider of insured healthcare services to Ontario residents who possess a valid Ontario Health Insurance Policy (OHIP) card. Patients who do not possess a valid health card must cover the cost of service. We accept cash, Interac, Visa, and Mastercard for payments. Upon presentation of a valid OHIP card, it will take 1-2 months for reimbursement.

  • Test results of any kind cannot be given over the phone. The patient must review the results with the doctor in person.

  • Our doctors do not prescribe narcotics to other doctor’s patients. Interim Federal Health (IFH) Program For your visit, please bring: Valid IFH papers to each visit

All patients are expected to come back to UCC for follow-up on test results as appropriate. At the end of having your test done, the testing facility will let you know when to expect your results to arrive at UCC.

Upon arrival of your tests results, they are reviewed by the physician and tests will be flagged for patient call back to the clinic as appropriate. In general most negative tests are NOT flagged for patient call back. It is up to the patient to return to UCC to review all test results with the physician on duty.

For privacy reasons, we cannot give any test results over the phone or any other medium including fax and email.

The call back notification will be in the form of a telephone call or a text message.

Patients with out of province health cards will be required to make a payment to UCC and then will be provided with a reimbursement form and a receipt of payment so that they can be reimbursed from their province of health coverage.
